Hummingbird Hill Playgarden

K-2 Program

For those families looking for a “hybrid” home-schooling program, the Meadowlark program here at Hummingbird Hill Playgarden may be just the program you are looking for.

Guided by Waldorf principles, the multi-age Meadowlark program, for children ages six through nine (K/1st/2nd grade), brings reading, writing, arithmetic, and oral storytelling to life through a practical, creative, and holistic approach to learning.

Our program runs three days/week, T/W/Th, from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM.

The morning “Main Lesson” focuses on introducing/reviewing and developing reading, writing, and mathematical/computational concepts and skills. The afternoon consists of enrichment programs such as cooking, crafting, gardening, nature exploration, and free, creative play.

History/mythology and practical science concepts are taught through storytelling and hands-on experiences.

The Meadowlark program offers a small teacher/student ratio, so individual strengths and needs can be addressed in more personal ways.

The cost for this three-day program is $850/month and includes all supplies, snacks, and lunch.
